I’m Ginette and I’ve been helping subject matter experts and small business owners with various aspects of their business and marketing since leaving corporate life back in 2014.
Today, I run The Get That Gang, a suite of services designed to help you conquer different aspects of online business. My super-power is combining strategic thinking with practical execution. My tagline is “Sorting Your Online Sh*t Out”, which I think is just about Marmite enough to make my clients self-selecting 
This year, I realised that it’s 30 years since I became post-grad qualified in marketing – which naturally is impossible as I’m only in my mid-thirties… <ahem>
Having had many conversations with clients over the years about creating effective marketing plans, it’s clear to me that it’s so easy to get lost in overwhelm, trying to do all the things. The truth is, you don’t need to.

Who is this for?
This event is perfect for small business owners or subject matter experts who struggle with their marketing and find they’re either trying to do all the things (badly) or find they end up doing none of the things!
Do I have to be there in person?
I’d love to see you there in person and the workshop is designed as an in-person event. However, I realise that not everyone will be able to easily travel to or from Bournemouth (despite the excellent road and rail connections) and even though we are blessed with an abundance of hotels down here, not everyone wants to stay overnight! For those who can’t, or don’t want to, be here in person there is the virtual ticket option. You’ll get all the training, but staying on track and not getting distracted is down to you!
Will I really get my plan written in one day?
Absolutely – as long as you follow the structure I will show you at the workshop.
Just to be clear for expectations – you will get your plan written, but you may also decide during the course of the workshop that you want to create some new content or assets. Those bits will need to be done in your own time – but of course it will be mid-November, so there’s plenty of time before the end of the year to take action there!
What if something comes up and I can't make it on the day?
I completely understand that with the best will in the world, sometimes planes, trains and automobiles don’t follow the plan. Not to mention kids/partners/parents etc.
If you have a last-minute emergency that prevents you from attending, first of all let me know (I’ll send you instructions on that before the event) and then second of all don’t stress! You can apply for a 50% refund on the cost of the day ticket that was in force at the time of your booking. See the terms and conditions below.
If you decide that actually you’d rather take on some paid work that day instead of attending (or anything else that is a genuine choice between coming along and giving it a miss), that’s entirely up to you, but please see the terms and conditions for what that means for your payment.
Do I need to have a website/social media/email list?
Not at all. During the course of the workshop, you may find at least one of those things might need to feature in your plans, but it’s still possible to create a plan that doesn’t involve any of them. I’m not saying it will be a great plan…
In all seriousness, you WILL find it easier to do your marketing if you at least have some kind of website presence, but it doesn’t have to be anything fancy-pants. I’ll explain more in the workshop, including how you can quickly get your website presence up and running (without spending a fortune).
Will I need to buy more things for the plan to work?
At this point I don’t know what you already have, so I can’t say for sure BUT I can say with certainty that you will not be pressured into buying anything on the day. I will make some recommendations on the day for things that I believe will genuinely help you if they’re relevant to your plan, but you will not miss out if you don’t take me up on those suggestions.
Can I get or give up the VIP option after the event?
You can join the VIP group at the full rate after the event (minus the price you paid for your attendance ticket) up until the end of November only.
If you want to give up the VIP option before the event, the standard refund conditions will apply (see the terms and conditions below). If you still want to attend the event only, then you can book an in person or virtual ticket at the price available when you request your refund.
If you want to give up the VIP option after the event, then your refund will be determined by when you give up the option:
Before the end of 2024: full refund minus the price of the event ticket in force at the time of booking.
In 2025: full refund minus the price of the event ticket in force at the time of booking and on a pro rata basis for each month into 2025.

Can I get the VIP package even if I can't attend on the day?
You can, although I would strongly advise you to do everything you can to be there! Please note that there is no discount option on the VIP package if you cannot attend the workshop live. Also note that the tailored weekly emails are contingent on your plan completion and submission.
I'm not VAT registered, do I still have to pay VAT?
If you’re in the UK or paying through a UK bank account, then yes you do, as my company is VAT registered and so I legally have to charge it. Talk to your accountant about how you can still reclaim some VAT costs without being fully registered for VAT.

Do I need an established business?
Not at all – this workshop will work for you whether you have 30 days or 30 years in business behind you.
Can I upgrade/downgrade my ticket?
For either option, just get in touch with me gi*****@************ng.com and we’ll see what can be done. There are terms and conditions attached to this event, so please be mindful of those when purchasing. Nothing sinister, just normal cancellation fees and income disclaimers!
My problem is sticking to my plans - will this help?
Most definitely. One of the key take-aways I want you to have from this workshop is that you should only be planning to do the stuff you are actually excited to do – I’ll reveal how to do that on the day!
What sort of business is this for?
My main experience is with subject matter experts operating as a single employee company (or sole trader), or small business owners who (usually) don’t have a dedicated marketing person on their team. That’s who this workshop is aimed at BUT if you want to come along and bring your marketing person with you, please do! Of course, if you ARE that marketing person who wants to come along, you are also more than welcome.
Do I need to bring anything?
Yourself and your laptop, or other internet-enabled device are all you will need. If you don’t have a laptop or other device, then there will be one 30 minute session that you might struggle with, although if you let me know in plenty of time, I’m sure we can work something out for you. (To be clear, even a smartphone will be enough for the session.)
Otherwise, if you are there in person, we will provide refreshments and lunch and a load of stationery and materials for use during the workshop if you want.
Is there any discount for staying at the hotel?
Early September Update: there is some room availability for Thursday 14th and Friday 15th November. To get a discounted room rate of just £99 pppn, please write to Ashlie: ev****@******************co.uk and mention this event/my name to secure your room. First come, first served!
Fortunately though, we are blessed with a plethora of accommodation options in Bournemouth, so if the hotel is full, please use your usual methods of finding somewhere that suits you, should you wish to stay a night or two. No accommodation within the Bournemouth town centre will be more than a five minute taxi ride from the Marsham Court Hotel. I can recommend the Hampton by Hilton.
Will this really be worth my time and money?
If you genuinely want to conquer your marketing plan for 2025, and you are prepared to get stuck in and work on it on the day, then yes it will absolutely be a great investment for you.
If you are the sort who thinks you just have to sit back and listen and somehow everything will miraculously fall into place for you without you having to do any work, then I’m probably not the right sort of help for you!

Etiquette expectations:
I will expect you to attend this workshop keen and eager to participate! However, sometimes, a rogue attendee can spoil things for others. Below are some examples of unwelcome behaviours that will see me asking you to leave with no refund. Please note that the virtual room will be moderated for these behaviours too:
– Solicitation of your business services. This is not an event for you to sell your business products or services. Of course you can talk to others about what you do and if they ask for more information, that’s great, I’m all for it. Please don’t attend with the primary goal of finding new clients though. There are opportunities to sponsor the event if that’s what you’re after (see below).
– Boorish, brash, arrogant, unpleasant, disrespectful or otherwise uncollaborative behaviour is never welcome at my events and I will ask you to leave if I determine this is happening.

Refund policy:
IMPORTANT: if you want a refund, please apply to me using the email address gi*****@************ng.com – you can see below that I am being more than reasonable with these terms!
Please DO NOT apply for a chargeback through your payment provider, even if this seems like the easiest option all round. Chargebacks count against a business and can lead to a payment account being shut down without notice, causing the business owner considerable cash-flow issues. Certain payment providers are incredibly unreasonable about this stuff, but in some instances there is no choice about using them.
If you pay for a ticket and no longer wish to attend, the following refund terms apply:
1. Within 7 days of the event: no refund
2. Any time up to 7 days prior to the event: 100% refund
3. If you cannot attend on the day because of an unforeseeable emergency: 50% refund of ticket price paid on application to gi*****@************ng.com
4. VIP ticket refunds after the event: until Dec 13 2024, full refund minus the cost of the event ticket in force at the time of booking. In 2025, full refund minus the cost of the event ticket in force at the time of booking and pro-rated for each month entered in 2025. This means that the balance after the event ticket price has been taken off will be divided by 12 and for each month entered, even by one day, 1/12th will be deducted from the refund amount due. So if you’re going to give it up, do it at the end of a month not the beginning!
5. No resales of tickets are permitted
